This is going to sound VERY strange but here goes and please remember it’s just a thought, no judgements etc… And the final decision is ALWAYS up to you. If you are newly married to a Marine or have a Marine boyfriend, try to wait until he is at least a Sgt. before you have kids. The number of military families on welfare etc…is astronomical. If you wait until he is a Sgt. you get to spend a few years getting to know each other under the same roof, have more free time to yourselves and have the chance to plan and budget for your baby. Also, the base offers Budget for Baby and Daddy Baby Boot Camp. Both are extremely helpful no matter what. Another thing to think about, try and plan the month you want your baby born around deployments. This way, your guy can be with you during the delivery so you won’t have to go it alone and also, he won’t be half way across the world worrying about how you and the baby are doing. Plan it so you have the baby right after he gets back! ;)
PS I really hope no one finds this offensive or judgmental. I was simply trying to pass on advice that has worked for many year after year.
